A cautionary note for new inventors
Profiting from your ideas has never been easy. Thomas Edison said "Invention is 10% inspiration, 90% perspiration." These days its 1% inspiration, 9% perspiration, 90% litigation ! Lawyers & bogus invention marketing companies are the only ones making steady money at this !
Unfortunately, the patent system is not set up to work for inventors. Large corporations get hundreds or even thousands of patents per year on all sorts of obvious, mindless details in their products, yet the independent inventor will struggle for years to patent a truly revolutionary idea. And, if his idea is stolen anyway, the iron clad patents only give him the right to spend decades in court ! More often than not, he will run out of money and give up. The company that stole it has lawyers on staff whose only job is to keep the case in court for as long as possible.
